Artist Connect is a nonprofit initiative that connects independent artists and local businesses through professional, transparent, and community-driven live programming. We help businesses activate their spaces with live culture, and help artists access real performance opportunities, without the confusion, risk, or gatekeeping that often comes with booking live entertainment.I

TWO WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

Every opportunity submitted through Artist Connect is designed with the artist’s budget in mind, ensuring fair and professional compensation.

Option 1 – Facilitation Model

Light Support – Venue-Led : Artist Connect facilitates introductions between artists and venues while both parties manage the event directly.

Best for businesses that: 

● Already host live entertainment 

● Have sound equipment and trained staff

● Hold required entertainment permits 

● Want help finding artists, not running events

Option 2 - Turnkey Model

Full Support - Revenue Share : Indie Things Possible serves as the presenter and producer of record and manages the entire process.

Best for businesses that:

● Do not have entertainment permits 

● Do not have sound equipment or technical staff

● Want a turnkey, low-lift solution 

● Prefer shared revenue instead of upfront costs

What we handle:

● Artist selection, contracts, and payment

● Sound equipment and technical operation ● Event production and run-of-show

● Permits and regulatory compliance

● Alcohol sales, either through the business’s license or a nonprofit one-day liquor license 

How the model works financially: 

Revenue is shared across all event sales, including tickets, food, beverages, alcohol, and merchandise.

Q: What are the pricing options?

  • Facilitation Model (Venue Led) – Artist Connect facilitates introductions between artists and venues while both parties manage the event directly. $250

  • Turnkey Model (Full Support – Revenue Share): We handle everything — artist booking, contracts and payments, permits, staffing, sound, concessions, and logistics.

Q: What if I don’t have an entertainment permit?
A: Any business offering live entertainment in Sacramento must have an Entertainment Permit issued by the City. If you do not already have one, Indie Things Possible can provide this coverage under the Partnership model so you remain compliant.

Q: Do you provide sound and equipment?
A: Yes. We offer an AV Equipment + Technician add-on for $300 with Curated Selection, and full sound/tech support with the Partnership model.


For Artists

Q: Who qualifies as an artist?
A: Artist Connect is open to all creative disciplines, including:

  • Musical Artists – singers, bands, instrumentalists, DJs, producers.

  • Visual Artists – live painters, muralists, digital creators.

  • Performing Artists – dancers, spoken word poets, actors, comedians.

  • Multimedia Artists – those combining multiple disciplines.

Q: Is there a cost to join?
A: No. Artist Connect is free for artists.

Q: How do I apply for opportunities?
A: Opportunities are posted on the Artist Connect site. You can either:

  • Create a Profile – Upload your bio, media links, and tech needs so you can apply in one click.

  • Apply Directly – Submit your details for each opportunity individually.

Q: Will I get paid for performances?
A: Yes. Every opportunity is designed with a budget in mind. For Partnership events, ITP manages payment directly to ensure artists are compensated fairly and on time.

Q: Can I apply to multiple opportunities?
A: Absolutely! You can apply to as many as you’d like, depending on availability and fit.


Logistics

Q: Who manages communication?
A: There are two options depending on your needs:

  1. Facilitation Model ITP facilitates shortlisting and introductions.

  2. Turnkey Model: ITP manages communications, contracts, permits, and logistics.

Q: What happens after an event?
A: After every opportunity, ITP follows up with both the business and the artist to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction.
