CREATIVE GROWTH FELLOWSHIP GRANT
The Creative Growth Fellowship Program provides financial support to Sacramento-based artists. Up to 200 artists will receive $850 each month for a full year to help them grow and succeed in their artistic careers. Artists of all types—like musicians, crafts, film, designers, dance, oral traditions, social practice, and more.

No; unfortunately, we do not have the capabilities to accurately translate applications in other languages. All answers for the application must be in English.

Aidkit, the company that will be issuing the monthly payments, will distribute a 1099-MISC to grantees. Whether this is taxable will depend on each individual’s circumstances; please refer to a tax specialist for further guidance. The City cannot advise on tax issues.

No. Unfortunately, this grant is limited to artists who live within the City of Sacramento.

If you are currently receiving public assistance benefits, being part of the Creative Growth Fellowship program may affect your eligibility to continue receiving those benefits. Please check with benefit agencies to determine how or if eligibility might be impacted by receipt of these funds. The City of Sacramento is not responsible for any loss of benefits due to grant award.

The program will only accept one application per person. Submitting multiple applications will disqualify you from enrollment.

Once you have drafted your responses and collected all materials to be uploaded, the application can be filled out in approximately 30 minutes. You can start your application and complete it at a later time. However, you may not edit your application once you submit it.

This program is open to all residents of the City of Sacramento, regardless of citizenship status. That means that if you are not a legal resident and you meet the eligibility criteria above, you are eligible to participate. You will not be asked about your citizenship or immigration status in the application, and we will not share information regarding legal immigration status with any government agency, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) unless required by law or court order.

This application will ask questions to help us determine your eligibility for the Creative Growth Fellowship program. None of the information you provide will be shared with other parties without your consent, except as required for program administration and by law. We will securely store any information you share in the application stage. In the unlikely event of a data breach, you will be informed. Payment options and information related to payment must be provided in the application to be considered for funding.

Yes, you can apply. For documentation, you may need to work with your local shelter or transition service provider to confirm that you are currently living within the City of Sacramento. Some documentation of residence will be needed to determine eligibility.
